Mute Swan, family relaxing in the reeds

14th September 2010 - eastern reed bed, Moore Nature Reserve - the cygnets are about four months old
overlooking family of swans through the reeds
15:33:10 - a sunny, windy afternoon, on a sheltered bank.
one sat up with eyes closed
15:35:55 - the cygnets are relaxed.
one with eyes open
15:37:52 - at around four months old, the cygnets are possibly still unable to fly, though will start soon.
one stretches wing
15:49:27 - little movement.
this wakes another juvenile
15:49:56 - except for a bit of wing stretching.
adult swan is alert
15:58:37 - both parents are present, and one is alert, whilst the other probably relaxes.
one juvenile is now in the water
16:45:01 - a solo cygnet wants a stretch and a clean.
